Group Medical
Lone Star Benefits realizes that employers have many different group medical insurance needs. Whatever the need, we will work with you independently to design the ideal group medical benefits package that works best for you and your employees. Attention will be given to: • Most cost-efficient funding method – fully insured or partially self insured. • Plan choices – single or multi-option benefit plans that are tailored for the demographics of your group. Lone Star Benefits assists with several types of dental plans. The most traditional plan is partially or fully funded by the employer and has a deductible, coinsurance, annual benefit maximum and an option for orthodontic coverage if desired. The most common group dental plans are: • Traditional plan provided by an insurance company. • HMO dental plan that requires the use of certain dentists. • Discounted fee-for-service plan. Group Vision Vision coverage is provided very similar to group dental plans. Coverage may be obtained through an insurance company, a closed network of vision specialists or by a discounted fee-for-service plan. Group Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Lone Star Benefits offers several options for life and AD&D coverage. The employer may choose a flat amount of insurance per employee or select amounts based on a multiple of annual earnings. AD&D coverage gives employees additional protection in the event of accidental death, loss of limb(s) and/or sight. Life and AD&D coverage may be offered as an employer paid plan or on a voluntary, payroll deduction basis for employees and their dependents. Group Disability Lone Star Benefits offers two types of disability insurance: short term and long term. Short term disability insurance is designed to provide benefits quickly and only for a limited period of time. This will keep an income stream coming to an employee who is disabled. Long term disability insurance is designed to help employees maintain their standard of living should they become disabled. Benefits normally do not begin until an employee has been disabled for at least 90 days and will typically continue up to age 65. Disability coverage may be paid by an employer or offered on a voluntary, payroll deduction basis for employees and their dependents. Group Voluntary Benefits In growing popularity are voluntary, employee-pay-all benefits ideal for businesses looking to expand their benefit packages without increasing company costs. Examples of voluntary benefits include employee/dependent life, short/long term disability, dental, vision, long term care, cancer protection, critical illness protection, and pre-paid legal services. Lone Star Benefits works with an extensive list of voluntary product carriers that our clients may choose from. |
