Heather Bowers

Heather Bowers joined the Lone Star Benefits team in 2000 and assumed the role of President in 2021. She enjoys working with small to mid-size employers located throughout the country on their employee benefit programs. Heather’s devotion to her clients is evident in the service level that she provides to them and her clients frequently praise her for her easy accessibility when they need her. In serving her clients, Heather spends much focus on creative plan design and strategies to help control health care costs. She considers this an essential part of her role as their health insurance agent and strategist.

Heather is also very much an educator in her industry, especially in light of the Affordable Care Act. She enjoys providing all of the insurance knowledge an employer needs to feel confident about the selection of their benefit designs and works to keep her clients in compliance with the ever changing laws as it relates to the insurance industry. As the benefit world continues to become more and more complicated, she finds that by making herself available at this level is something that companies find extremely valuable and rare. By being her clients’ resource and educator, she can keep them apprised of everything they need to know on the benefits side so they can focus on what they do best, growing their business.

Heather was raised in Carrollton, TX and is a graduate of the University of North Texas. She and her husband, Jason, were married in 1999 and have two children. They live in Frisco, the best city in the USA! She truly loves giving back to her community and is currently serving on the North Texas Community Giving Foundation Board of Directors. She has also enjoyed being active in the Frisco Rotary Club and serving on the City of Frisco Community Development Corporation Board, the Frisco Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Frisco Family Services Board of Directors, the Frisco Family YMCA Board, the City of Frisco Grand Park Sub-committee and has assisted the Frisco Education Foundation with the Mindbender Academy. Heather is blessed to have most of her family living in the area and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Many consider her a “gym rat” as she has a passion for fitness. Her absolute favorite place to be though is anywhere warm and tropical and surrounded by the Caribbean!

Heather was honored to be named as one of the Collin County Business Press “40 Under 40” in June 2012 and was also named as one of the Dallas Business Journal “40 Under Forty” in July 2012.
