John Heath


John Heath has built a long-standing reputation in the group health insurance field since his start in 1974 and led the Lone Star Benefits team as President until 2021, at which time he sold the agency to Heather Bowers. His primary focus is on cost-efficient benefit design and funding of group medical, dental, disability and life insurance programs for employer groups. He also takes pride in assisting individual clients with health, life and disability insurance needs. John has a vast array of experience in the employee benefits field, having served hundreds of employer groups through the decades.

With a passion for reading and obtaining knowledge, John has positioned himself as an expert in the areas of group health insurance and health care reform and his clients rely on him as such. In 1990, John earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation. After seeing a growing need for employee benefits guidance to small employers, John earned his Small Group Specialist (SGS) designation in 2011. He is a Charter Member of the Association of Health Insurance Agents, American Society of CLU & ChFC Professional Achievement in Continuing Education Program, a Member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and National and Texas Association of Health Underwriters. John holds a business administration degree from Tarleton State University, with a major in marketing.

John and his wife, Carol, are Bosque natives and married in 1971 and now reside in Frisco, Texas. They have one son, two daughters and seven grandchildren. John has spent his adult life giving back to his city and his community, having served on the Carrollton City Council, Senior Adult Services Board, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. When he’s not growing his business, John enjoys working outdoors, reading and kicking back at the family ranch in Bosque County.
